She is 37 years old and has been living in Prince Rupert for ten years and is employed with the T.Buck Suzuki Environmental Foundation. Working to protect fish and fish habitat, the Foundation works closely with the commercial fishing industry and is affiliated with the United Fisherman and Allied Workers’ union (UFAWU-CAW).”

“There are many values that we share in common and they cannot afford to stand alone as they are complex and interrelated. I am not a one issue candidate however, I am passionate about ensuring that decision making takes a systematic rather than singular approach. If elected, I will build off of the work of past councillors who have shared this perspective and bring vitality and integrity.

Decisions can not be made in a silo. Without long-term planning and vision we will remain in a situation where we are continuously putting out fires dealing with short-term crises as opposed to creating the future we want for our community.

I intend to:

  • Hold council to account on the OCP (Official Community Plan)
  • Build a sustainable fiscal base by lobbying higher levels of government for an improved municipal funding formula.
  • Lobby higher levels of government for a fairer system of infrastructure funding
