“There are many values that we share in common and they cannot afford to stand alone as they are complex and interrelated. I am not a one issue candidate however, I am passionate about ensuring that decision making takes a systematic rather than singular approach. If elected, I will build off of the work of past councillors who have shared this perspective and bring vitality and integrity.
Decisions can not be made in a silo. Without long-term planning and vision we will remain in a situation where we are continuously putting out fires dealing with short-term crises as opposed to creating the future we want for our community.
I intend to:
- Hold council to account on the OCP (Official Community Plan)
- Build a sustainable fiscal base by lobbying higher levels of government for an improved municipal funding formula.
- Lobby higher levels of government for a fairer system of infrastructure funding
