Rob submitted the following information:

Hello, my name is Rob Vallee. I’ve lived in Prince Rupert for the last 27 years. I graduated from Prince Rupert Secondary School. After graduation I worked at the pulp mill for 12 years before becoming owner/operator of DataBoy for 9 years. I now run Vallee IT. You might have seen my blue ambulance around town. A large part of my work is to research and solve problems quickly. Therefore good communication is essential. These are skills that I feel are necessary when serving on city council. I am a current member of the Moose, Rotary and Prince Rupert Chamber of Commerce. I have also served as the Safety Rep. for the PPWC Union Executive while at the Pulp Mill. Having been a Union Member and now as a small business owner I bring a unique two-sided view of commerce and economics to the table. It is through this that I feel I will be able to serve the general public and represent our city as a whole. Government should be accessible to the public and that is what I want to bring. As I do not belong to any specific interest groups, I’m neither left nor right; I’m the common guy who cares about the interests of our city.

I feel confident that Council can find a common ground and work together so that this city can move forward. Steps have already been taken to increase business in Prince Rupert. I believe that our city is moving in the right direction and I will work hard to promote the economy’s growth and increase community development. Therefore as a council member I will bring energy and enthusiasm to council. If you place your confidence in me I will do everything to represent your interest as well as the cities.

I would be honored to represent you and look forward to being your voice.

On November 19, please place your vote for Rob Vallee to show that you matter and will have a voice for the future of Prince Rupert.
